Property
We work with clients on both residential and commercial property sales and purchases. Working with a lawyer is an important part of due diligence when purchasing property. We offer our experience and in-depth knowledge of titles and contracts to make sure our clients understand what they are agreeing to and the implications of any covenants or easements.
Retirement Villages and Residential Care
Buying into a retirement village has different legal requirements to other property purchases, and the Retirement Villages Act requires legal consultation. An Occupation Rights Agreement needs to be signed and a Disclosure Statement provided by the village. We review these with our clients to ensure they fully understand them before signing.
Relationship Property
The Property (Relationships) Act 1976 outlines how the property of married couples, civil union partners and de facto couples is divided if a relationship ends. We work with clients either before, during or after a relationship to come to an agreement on individual ownership of assets, so they are not subject to the equal sharing dictated in the Act.
